What are Somatics?
Somatics describes any practice that uses the mind-body connection to help you survey your internal self and listen to signals your body sends about areas of pain, discomfort, or imbalance. These practices allow you to access more information about the ways you hold on to your experiences in your body. As you begin slowly revisiting the trauma, you can track your response and the bodily sensations the trauma brings up. We do this both by watching your response, which might involve breathing changes, clenched hands, or a shift in tone of voice and addressing accordingly. We may ask trigger questions or suggest specific poses to unlock the retained tension.

Somatic Photos?
One moment can change a lot, good, bad, or otherwise. My Somatic Photo-Therapy program targets the multi-layered intricacies that make up our day to day experience. Being, or not being, what we desire can effect us on a physical, emotional, and cognitive level. First, just embodying a desired expression is immensely impactful, yet being witnessed in this process is even more healing. Feeling validated in your experiences is another layer and then having the ability to pause, go back and look…. to see yourself in the moment or later down the line, is yet another layer to this process.

How's it works?

You’ll want to go to my bookings page to book a shoot and check the extra package “somatic photo therapy” at NO EXTRA COST. Then, we will chat about the details of our shoot. Somatic sessions usually involve privacy and meaningful symbols. Sometimes it’s just a feeling or an element. No matter your unique situation, we’ll take the time together to make a memorable experience you’re proud of!
